An option that mothers turn to if they don’t have enough breast milk to feed their babies is to get it from a breast milk bank. For some unknown reasons they either cannot produce an ample supply or they cannot produce anything at all. They avail of the extra milk at the breast milk bank because of the quality it assures to the mother.

Try to produce more milk as possible before going to a breast milk bank. Turn to family and friends first, and ask if they have excess breast milk to spare. In this way, you have are familiar with the source of the milk and it would ease the worries of having your child drink unhealthy milk. Go to a pediatrician if you there is no milk from familiar sources. Ask for a prescription to purchase breast milk and ask for a recommendation as to where can you find a reliable breast milk bank.

Go to the nearest breast milk bank in your area. One reason is that the shipping costs would be significantly lower if the breast milk bank is in close proximity.
